１／５補前言：
24歲的Hozier是來自愛爾蘭的創作男歌手因為１４年初這首Take Me To Church而開始為人所知
這首歌含義真的很複雜，立場一直轉換
我對歌詞其中的意味似懂非懂，只能憑著自己理解盡能力去翻
真的覺得自己翻得很爛如果有錯請告之．．．
我的理解是：歌詞大致是控訴世上許多人以宗教為名暴力對待和歧視同性戀者的行為
聽說亦有對早前俄羅斯反LGBT(Lesbian+Gay+Biosexual+Trangenger)事件表示抗議
而其他翻譯網站亦有指出歌曲中其他的隱喻
＂Hozier在訪問中說，這首歌是有關性愛sex與人性humanity。
性愛跟人性是密不可分的，性愛是人的天性
然而有些像教堂或一些教條卻是違反人性，成功地教育人們性愛是羞恥的，是罪惡的，是污蔑上帝的。
這首歌是要讓你藉由愛來確認自己，找回自己的人性。＂

比較有趣的是MV結尾時，主角把一個箱子鎖上鐵鏈埋藏在地下
