John Doe是一個很有趣的英文,它並沒有特別指向某一個人
如果用中文來說, 翻譯成「某(甲)」(當然你說成路人甲也可以, 如果是活著的...) 在偵查中不知名的(可憐的無名屍), 或是在偵查與審理中不公開姓名的, 男的稱為John Doe, 女性是Jane Doe 或是Jane Roe. (from http://blog.yam.com/seafood/article/8578777)
而B.o.B這首歌裡John Doe是指在現在社會中處於低潮,依賴酒色和吸毒來麻痺自己的人
而John Doe正正是一首鼓勵這些人面對現實,追尋夢想的勵志歌曲
這首我本來真的沒打算翻的,我一直不覺得自己有能力去翻譯RAP
因為通常RAP的歌詞裡會有很多local的哩語我對這些完全是一頭冒水
雖然有很多很喜歡的RAP歌曲,但我都放棄了...因為我怕我的爛翻譯會誤人子弟
但第一次聽完John Doe的Chorus,我就被吸引住了
看完歌詞後更是瞬間產生強烈的衝動去翻譯加上歌詞中好像沒有什麼哩語
所以我就花了很多時間去認真翻譯,希望能帶出其中正面的訊息
